EVENT INFORMATION
This country’s premier Rock & Roll legend Joe Brown comes to us after another remarkable year even by his own high standards. The year 2008 marked Joe’s 50th year as a professional entertainer and he truly is one of this country’s best loved, enduring, and most acclaimed musicians. Joe, along with his band is back at this theatre by popular demand in another two-hour musical celebration.
His 50th Anniversary tours were complete sell outs at every venue. He also achieved a Gold Record for 100,000 sales of his 50th Anniversary Very Best Of album which was on the UK charts for 8 weeks staying 4 weeks in the top 20 and in September that year sold out The Royal Albert Hall with his 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert.
He continued to break box office records in 2009, with a new album More Of The Truth released, completing two further sold out UK tours whilst also receiving MOJO magazine’s coveted Outstanding Contribution To Music Award and an MBE. His new Ukulele album is now being played to death on UK radio.
You may have seen Joe performing on Later With Jools Holland or at the cinema playing his part closing the show at the Royal Albert Hall in the Concert For George Harrison or been there to witness him playing his critically acclaimed set at Glastonbury Festival but if not now is your chance to see one of the all time great talents live.
Joe, with his five piece band incorporating his son and record producer Pete Brown, will be on stage all evening and the musical styles incorporated into his show are as unique as the man himself.
One now expects Timeless Classics, Rockabilly, Gospel, Country, Folk, Electric Rock & Roll all to be interwoven with Joe’s effervescent delivery and humorous reminiscences.
This sensational show is a musical journey you should not miss!
