Leading lights of the 1970s pub-rock scene, Dr Feelgood remain one of the most incendiary live R’n’B bands on the planet. Hits like Roxette, Milk and Alcohol and Down at the Doctors established them as keepers of the British blues flame, and Julien Temple’s amazing 2010 documentary Oil City Confidential recently reinforced their reputation as one of the UK’s most influential pre-punk bands.
It was a reputation forged by legendary founder members Lee Brilleaux and Wilko Johnson, and the current line-up of Dr Feelgood are keeping it alive in spectacular fashion. Drummer Kevin Morris and bassist Phil Mitchell both joined the band in 1983, and guitarist Steve Walwyn is rapidly approaching his 25th year as a member! Former Animals vocalist Robert Kane joined in 1999 and quickly won over the band’s fervent fanbase with his raw, high-octane performances.
