Lusty Glaze Beach in association with Purple Gecko Events are thrilled to be able to announce that the phenomenal award winning sensation that is Bellowhead will playing live on the beach on Monday 18th August as part of there summer 2014 national tour included a sell out show at The Royal Albert Hall. They will be supported by The Peoples String Foundation.
Simply, there is no one else quite like Bellowhead. Formed in 2004 by renowned duo John Spiers (melodeon, concertina) and Jon Boden (vocals, fiddle), this 11-piece big band fuses an exceptional amount of individual musical talent into something unique and truly uplifting. Bellowhead honour centuries of English musical tradition while at the same time constantly press forward into the future. Little wonder critics have rapidly exhausted their supply of superlatives. Voted Best Live Act at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards on an unparalled four separate occasions (2005, 2007, 2008, 2010), their recorded work - Burlesque (2006), and Matachin (2008) - has been equally feted by organs as diverse as MOJO, The Sun and The Observer.

The gates open at 6pm.
Bellowhead will be supported by 2 acts yet to be announced.
BBQ and Paella will be available, and the takeaway will be open.
Beach closed for concert preparation from 3.30pm
The event is open to all, but under 16s need to ba accompanied by an adult. The ticket price is the same for all ages due to Lusty Glaze Beach only being licensed for a relatively small number of people, so big or small we have to charge full price to make these special events happen!
Wristbands can be collected from the Box Office in Lusty Glaze car park from 10am - 4pm on the 16th and 17th of August ,and from 10am - 9pm on the 18th of August. To collect your wristbands please bring a copy of the e-ticket and proof of identification.
We comply with the Challenge 25 protocol so if you are lucky enough to look under 25 you will be asked to prove that you are aged 18 or over when you buy alcohol. If you are under 18 you are committing an offence if you attempt to buy alcohol. It is also an offence to buy alcohol for anyone under the age of 18.
Limited parking is available but there is a parking charge.
Food and Drink
Please note that no food or drink, including bottled water will be permitted to be brought onto site and bag searches will be in operation.
