Big band favourite Guy Barker presents a swinging, soulful celebration of big band music from Count Basie to Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and Louis Prima with a Christmas twist! The jazz trumpeter and composer is bringing a host of outstanding international jazz musicians in the form of the Guy Barker Big Band, specially expanded for this concert to up to 40 musicians, in what will be the fourth time he has performed at the Hall with these ensembles, which have been invited to play at the BBC Proms three times since 2012. Jazz singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal will be co-presenting the evening, and performing along with very special guests - Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling, award winning alto-saxophonist Soweto Kinch, actor and singer Clarke Peters and a cappella stars Accent!
