About Caroline  Clipsham


From Australia to the Arctic Circle, she has been described as “a delight to ear and eye”, and as having “a wicked sense of humour which adds to the enjoyment of her playing.” Caroline studied at Chethams School of Music, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
After completing both her degree course and a post-graduate course in Advanced Solo Studies, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada, where she worked with John Perry, Gilbert Kalish and Anton Kuerti and performed extensively both as a soloist and a chamber musician. She has performed at various music festivals around the world including the Orford Arts Festival in Quebec, the European Arts Festival in Germany, Brighton Festival and Guildford International Music Festival in the UK. Caroline has also made a documentary for Carlton Television which featured her playing Chopin’s original piano.

She has performed at the Wigmore Hall and St. John’s, Smith Square, and Kings Place in London, the National Concert Hall, Dublin; the International Holland Music Sessions and also in South Africa, Europe, Canada ,New Zealand, and she has toured Eastern Europe with cellist Orfeo Mandozzi. 
She gave a highly acclaimed Schubert recital as part of Opera de Bauge’s 2019 Schubertiad, which the artistic director described as “the high point of our Schubertiad. She gave a fiercely intelligent and delicately beautiful interpretation of 5 impromptus and her account of the Sonata in A minor was masterly and elegant”
