Pride in the Parliamentary Archives online talk

In this 30-minute online talk, archivist Penny McMahon draws upon historical documents to highlight the significance of parliamentary legislation on the lives of LGBT+ people and to tell some of their stories.

In the first half of the talk, Penny discusses the legislative persecution that LGBT+ people have faced, going back to Tudor times. Then in the second part, she focuses on some of the Parliamentarians who played a significant role in changing these laws.

At the end of the talk, 15 minutes are available for you to ask questions.
